Compound specific isotope analysis of ¹⁵N has long been a prohibitively difficult technique to master. Maintaining optimum furnace chemistry capacity without compromising sample peak chromatography has been the main challenge. Our standard GC-N technique has been re-developed so that only a single furnace tube is used for ¹³C as well as ¹⁵N compound specific analysis. The use of a single furnace tube means that the highest analytical performance is simple to achieve and switching between analysis modes is simple with minimal user interaction needed.
