CSIA oxygenadded on 5/2/09
Will Price from Isoprime Limited presented his applications development work with gas chromatography combined with pyrolysis for oxygen isotopic determination at SIMSUG (January 14-15, 2009) in Glasgow, Scotland. The work focused on using an alternative pyrolysis reactor configuration with a nickel reactor tube and carbon black inner coating instead of the commonly used platinum tube. The work demonstrated that the precision achieved using vanillin was approximately 0.35 per mil and there was no significant sample linearity proving that this is a high performance option for scientists interested in analysing compound specific oxygen isotopes.
